abstract
  • A tile improvement is a procedure that one or more of your types of unit can carry out in your city or colony radius or even beyond. They nearly always improve one or more aspects of production, movement, or defensive strength. The most common tile improvements are roads, farms or irrigation, and mines, which can be found in all the Civilization games, usually performed only by settler or engineer or worker units. In Colonization games, any colonist can build roads, clear forests, and plow cleared land. In Call to Power games, a portion of industrial production set by the player is transferred to a public work reserve which is spent on tile improvement.
