The Code of Commercial Navigation is an Imperial Proclamation issued by Catherine II of Russia in 1781. The Code was replaced by Alexander II of Russia in 1876 with the Laws of Navigational Affairs. The Code regulates the amounts of shipping allowed on Russian ships, the process of naval and commerical agreements with other countries and commerical companies, the basic rules of Russia's merchant organization, and also several laws about treatment of crews, maintainment of ships, commerical shipping, and others.
