Confused why this is happening, Sonic speeds off to the North East Sector of Metropolis City alone, unable to wait for backup. Minutes later, Sonic arrives in the capital but everything looks normal, with no Badniks or panic to be seen. However, when something strikes the back of his head, Sonic assumes a sneak attack and rushes off to confront the source. Before he can let loose, Sonic discovers them all to just be kids, with Tony accidentally striking Sonic with his baseball. The children reveal they have been playing all day and there has no been sign of Badniks, but the Kintobor Computer has no idea what went wrong with his readings. In Metropolis City High Security Prison, Grimer has hacked Kintobor, fooling him with a video recording of a 3-year old Badnik attack. The Governor is concerned about Sonic finding out Grimer's position, but its his job to keep Sonic in the dark. Back in the streets, Sonic loses his link to Kintobor but has other things on his mind when a massive Badnik arrives to fight him. Unfortunately, all his attacks are evaded by the Badnik who correctly predicts that Sonic is about to use a vortex attack. The Badnik taunts him, before revealing a face on its screen - the Kintobor Computer! As Sonic squares up to the Kintobor Badnik outside Winnie's World, people begin to flee and Kintobor reveals that he hates being treated like a machine. Kintobor shows off his power by hacking into P.C. Planet to display his face everywhere and Sonic realises that a computer based on Doctor Kintobor was always likely to turn bad. The hedgehog lures Kintobor into a building due for construction before using his Sonic speed to bring it down on top of him. Unfortunately, the Badnik survives but Sonic has already thought of a new idea. Rushing back into Emerald Hill, Sonic bursts into the Control Centre and turns off the Kintobor Computer, shutting down the Badnik just before it can destroy the base. Later, Porker Lewis visits and repairs the Kintobor Computer so that this can never happen again. However, Grimer is still happy despite his defeat. In the time that Kintobor was shut down, Grimer was able to patch surveillance software into the computer, meaning he will always know Sonic's next move...
