SG Oberstdorf/Sonthofen was an ice hockey team formed by the merger of EC Oberstdorf and ERC Sonthofen. The clubs played as a combined unit from 1966-1971, when they split and became independent once again due to financial problems. The club mostly played in the second-tier Oberliga, but did reach the top-flight Eishockey-Bundesliga for the 1967-68 season. After losing all eight of their games in the Southern group, and placing fifth in the Southern relegation round, they returned to the Oberliga, where they would remain through 1971.
