A small civilisation lives here. Including some Little Mousers, Bandits, Bob-ombs and Toads. This is also the location for the first Black Chest. The most famous item in the sewers is the legendary Thousand-Year Door, Which serves as the entrance to the Palace of Shadows.

One thousand years before the events of the game, it was the location of a civilization, and was destroyed by the Shadow Queen, soon sealed away by the Four Heroes. Long after its decline, people built the location of Rogueport over the top of it. It is where the Thousand-Year Door and the Pit of 100 Trials are. There is a small town down here and a shop, named Deep Down Depot, that sells Gold Bars. You go through here at the very beginning of your journey. First you go and, over time, You find a Black Chest Demon, and 'curses' you to be doomed to turn into an paper airplane when you press Y on the airplane spaces. Dazzle and Merluvlee can be found in the room left of the entrance pipe, and can be traded with or pa
