- West End Games (WEG) is a company that makes board, role playing, and war games. It was founded in 1974 in New York, but later moved to Honesdale, Pennsylvania. Its current and past product lines include Paranoia, Torg, Shatterzone, Men In Black, DC Universe, Star Wars, The World of Indiana Jones, Junta, Necroscope, Tales from the Crypt, Bloodshadows, and Metabarons.

- The World of Indiana Jones roleplaying game was intended as a flagship for WEG's "MasterBook" system; all MasterBook titles used the same game mechanics. The system flopped, however, and in 1996 the company released Indiana Jones Adventures, describing how to play the game using the alternate "D6 System" rules. In 1998, financial troubles caught up with the company, and it was forced to declare bankruptcy. As a result, WEG lost the licenses to a number of properties, including Indiana Jones.

- While all the supplements West End Games produced are out of print, some of the information included in their sourcebooks and adventures was used as background material for the Expanded Universe novels and comics, and some of the writers for West End Games supplements went on to write for the Star Wars Roleplaying Game produced by Wizards of the Coast. Much as with Marvel Comics' original Star Wars series, relatively obscure characters and settings from WEG supplements were frequently referenced in later Expanded Universe material by such authors as Abel G. Peña and Pablo Hidalgo (himself a former West End Games freelancer).

- After initially producing war games, it began to produce role-playing games (RPGs) based on Star Wars, Ghostbusters, and DC Heroes, among many other subjects. WEG's most recent product line primarily focused on the D6 System for RPGs, a game engine that utilized standard six-sided dice (or d6s) for its game mechanics. This engine had previously been licensed by the Amarillo Design Bureau for a (now out-of-print) version of their Prime Directive RPG.
