* 54th Infantry Division Today it is a 'Strike Corps' within the Indian Army's Central Command, headquartered at Mathura in Uttar Pradesh. Central Command itself has its headquarters at Lucknow. It consists of:
* 23rd Artillery Brigade
* 627 (I) Mechanised Air Defence Brigade
* Engineer brigade
* 4th Infantry Division (HQ Allahabad)
* 6th Mountain Division (Bareilly)
* 33rd Armoured Division (Hissar) As of 1996, 8th Battalion, Brigade of the Guards, in a mechanised profile, was assigned to 57 Armoured Brigade of 33 Armoured Division.
