Actually the first dinosaur species named was Megalosaurus bucklandi, the first genus being Megalosaurus, one year before Iguanodon was described. If you meant the oldest known dinosaur that would be Eoraptor and Staurikosaurus at 228 million years old. In 1999 what were believed to be new species of prosauropods in Madagascar(dating all the way to the Ladinian, 230 million years ago) were discovered. They were described as a new species of the early archosauromorph Azendohsaurus in 2010, a non-dinosaurian reptile (which was an upset for paleontologists)
