She arrived at Sun Hill in September 1999 to investigate corruption at the station, which ultimately led to her exposing DS Don Beech as being a corrupt officer. After the investigation was concluded and DS Don Beech was finally taken into custody there was no need for her to remain at Sun Hill but rather than be transferred she resigned from the police force and took a job working in security.
