- A long-lived King of Durin's Folk, Thrór ruled his exiled Folk for over 200 years, until T.A. 2790. In T.A. 2590, Thror led the way from the Grey Mountains, where Dragons threatened their existence. Smaug drove him and his followers from Erebor in T.A. 2770; twenty years later, Thror retained to Khazad-dûm, where he was slain and mutilated by Azog and Company, igniting the War between the Dwarves and the Orcs. His map of the Lonely Mountain later helped Gandalf and Bilbo and the Dwarves in their quest to defeat Smaug and to reoccupy Erebor.
- Thrór was a King of Durin's Folk, the son of Dáin I, the grandson of Náin II, the father of Thráin II, the brother of Frór, and Grór, the grandfather of Thorin II Oakenshield, Frerin, and Dis, and the great-grandfather of Fíli and Kíli.
- Thrór (2542 TE - 2790 TE) – krasnolud, Król plemienia Durina i Król pod Górą; syn Dáina I, brat Fróra i Gróra, ojciec Thráina II.
- After a great Cold-drake killed both his father and brother Frór, the remaining brothers Thrór and Grór led their people away from the Grey Mountains. As Dáin's heir, Thrór led many Dwarves back to Erebor, the Lonely Mountain where he became King under the Mountain, a title held earlier by his ancestor, Thórin the First. Grór continued east with a great following of Dúrin's Folk to the Iron Hills, where he founded his own realm. At Erebor, Thrór and his people re-established the Kingdom under the Mountain and became very prosperous. In TA 2735, while the dwarven population began to increase with more male and female Dwarves, he would later marry a dwarven woman named Cori and give birth to a son, naming him Thráin the Second, who would marry Bris then give birth to Thórin, Frérin, and Dís.
