The short-lived Artfield series was a line of premium guitars which offered innovations such as the new All Access neck joint, multi-ply necks and locking tuners along with three new body shapes in exotic woods. The AFD5CT's body shape is a sculpted double-cutaway design with short, symmetrical, pointed horns and rounded shoulders. The overall shape is reminiscent of the Artist series body, but the cross-section is more similar to the Radius series design. File:1988 AFD5 profile.png The AFD5 is a similar model with a bolt-on neck and dot fretboard inlays. The AFD5CT was produced only in 1988.

File:1988 AFD5 profile.png The AFD5CT has a mahogany body with a quilted maple top mated to a set-in mahogany and maple neck with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with Tree of Life vine position markers. Components include dual DiMarzio-made IBZ/USA humbucking pickups, an HQ synchronized tremolo bridge and Gotoh locking tuning machines. The AFD5 is a similar model with a bolt-on neck and dot fretboard inlays. The AFD5CT was produced only in 1988.
