The Menteshe were a people who resided south of the Kingdom of Avornis. Several centuries before the birth of Lanius, the Banished One conquered the the Menteshe after he'd been expelled from the heavenly hierarchy. While the Banished One did allow certain Menteshe princes to rule as puppets, he turned most of the Menteshe into thralls. Not long after Lanius was born, the Menteshe, as the instigation of the Banished One, attacked Avornis.
