Dogayn 418 was a Hermat in the 24th century. In hir early career, Dogayn (or "Doh" to hir friends) was an administrative assistant, prior to becoming an aide to Federation Councillor Saltroni 815 of Hermat circa 2370. At that time, Dogayn became friends with Eduardo de la Vega, an aide to Councillor Huang Chaoying of Alpha Centauri. Dogayn eventually rose to the position of chief of staff for Councillor Saltroni. In May of 2380, s/he was offered and accepted a position as deputy to Presidential Chief of Staff Esperanza Piñiero, replacing Xeldara Trask.

In August of 2380, Dogayn learned from de la Vega that legislation to continue aide to Cardassia was in danger of failing to pass in the Federation Council. Dogayn spent much of the following weeks, along with the others on Piñiero's staff, lobbying councillors on this issue.
