He and Adam "Mojo" Lebowitz were responsible for developing the first set of 3D lenticular starship animation prints that are currently being sold at Roddenberry.com. Lane served as the Chief of Communications for Starfleet, the International Star Trek Fan Association, Inc. from 2008 through 2010, publishing over a dozen issues of their newsletter, Starfleet Communique. Beginning in 2015, Lane began writing a regular blog called Fan Film Friday for the Axanar website.
