In order to keep the Gaia community in the know Monthly Update was created in December 16, 2011. It features Gaian staff (DJ Helsing) who does monthly video and thread updates that let members know exactly what staff has been up to lately and what's in store for the coming month. Sometimes contests and giveaways are hosted, such as a member winning http://images.wikia.com/gaia/images/0/00/Gold3.gifk, and also an opinion poll that may effect future updates, while others are simply for fun. Included in the polls is the chance to receive a Wing Sticker.

Included in the polls is the chance to receive a Wing Sticker. The updates were semi retired when it was said that DJ Helsing was inactive on Gaia Online. In March 2014, the updates made a return. The announcements are done in sentence format and the announcer is admin.
