Shortly after the reunification of the clans, MandalMotors developed a deadly ship, capable of standing up against both fighter and freighter with ease. The result of this expensive endeavor was the Avatar-class Interceptor. The very first Avatar was given to Mandalore Cadden Blackthorne as a gift for leading the Mandalorians to their restored honor, merging their old ways with the new that he provided them. MandalMotors immediately went to work on a new design of fighter, setting aside a special division of their R&D team to come up with the perfect ship for their new leader.

abstract
  • Shortly after the reunification of the clans, MandalMotors developed a deadly ship, capable of standing up against both fighter and freighter with ease. While a whole department of their R&D was dedicated to making a Mandalorian version of the KDY Firespray, only a select few of the most brilliant specialists they had to offer were set aside to work on this new ship design, which was initially one-of-a-kind. When Cadden received this custom fighter/freighter, he was astonished by the work that MandalMotors had done, putting all of its techniques into a single craft. After Blackthorne disappeared shortly before the Battle of Bandomeer, Karric Nayms requested of Garen Starfall, the new Mandalore, to put the ship on the open market. Garen was hesitant to let the fighter go freely into the hands of just anyone; he was skeptical enough about the usage of the Avatar within his own ranks. After much discussion, it was agreed that MandalMotors would only offer the ship to individuals whom were qualified to purchase it via the Council.
