After this, he goes to the Corleones to obtain money and protection from courts and the police, but is declined by Vito Corleone (Vito said the drug business is bad for the neighborhoods and would cause a damper on his political connections). Later when Luca Brasi comes to the Tattaglias to "join their family", Sollozzo assists in Luca's demise. He is killed by Michael Corleone in a peace meeting.
