About: Extended Elongated Hexagonal Antiprism   Sponge Permalink

An Entity of Type : owl:Thing, within Data Space : 134.155.108.49:8890 associated with source dataset(s)

(0,0,12,32)-deltahedron consisting of two parallel elongated hexagonal faces (although slightly bent inwards) that are connected as antiprisms and are vertically extended with enough layers so the two elongated faces are 90° rotated. The number of layers needed equals the number of rods between the two spheres at the extremes of the elongated hexagonal face. It is also completely rigid, and highly reminiscent of Alain Lobel's frames. This structure can be further extended by elongating the hexagonal face further and adding another layer.
