Brent Hughes (born June 9, 1982 in Toronto, Ontario) is a Canadian professional ice hockey right winger currently playing for the Newcastle Vipers of the Elite Ice Hockey League. Hughes turned pro in 2003, joining the Austin Ice Bats of the Central Hockey League (CHL). He then spent two seasons with the Amarillo Gorillas before joining the Colorado Eagles midway through the 2006-07 season and would go on to win the CHL Championship that season. In 2007, Hughes moved to the new International Hockey League (formerly the United Hockey League), signing with the Port Huron Icehawks. In 2008, Hughes moved to the United Kingdom's Elite Ice Hockey League, signing with the Basingstoke Bison. On 29 January 2010 Hughes signed for the Newcastle Vipers.
