| - The 2007 3M Performance 400 was a Nextel Cup (now Sprint Cup) event held at Michigan International Speedway on August 21, 2007. Thanks to rain it was the first NASCAR race in the Modern Era held on a Tuesday. But it was all sunny skies for Kurt Busch, the driver on the Chase for the Nextel Cup bubble, leading 92 of the 203 laps and holding off Martin Truex, Jr. for his second victory in the last three races. Points leader Jeff Gordon appeared in route to yet another top-ten until late contact from Matt Kenseth dropped Gordon to 27th and his points lead on Denny Hamlin (5th) down to 276 markers. Busch's run solidified his Chase spot, now 163 markers ahead of Dale Earnhardt, Jr. (12th). Stats
