Tomb Y is the burial place of at Abydos of Merneith, the mother of Den. The tomb consists of 40 subsidiary graves and due to its size and the reading of her name she was originally thought a king being called Merneit until they realized the name was in-fact female. Inside the tomb were found seal impressions featuring wine jars and probably were once attached to them as well as other numerous seals which only held the name of Den.
