The RDG321 was the first hard-tail RGD model, based on the RGD320 introduced earlier in 2010. The RGD series guitars are a metal-oriented line from Ibanez, focusing on appearance as much as performance. These are aimed at players who want to tune below concert pitch from the start, but are set up to be able to use regular gauge string sets because of the longer-scale neck. No more .60 low-E (D, in this case) strings to get murderous tunings! Drop C (My Curse by Killswitch Engage) is as simple as dropping your low-D down to match the C's vibrations. Drop B? Easy, too. It's ready to rock right from the factory.

| - The RDG321 was the first hard-tail RGD model, based on the RGD320 introduced earlier in 2010. Features of the RGD include a basswood body, the Gibraltar Standard bridge, Ibanez pickups and an extra long 26.5" scale length to facilitate the "full step down" factory tuning (DGCFAD). This is a metal player's guitar, with the lower standard tuning and the pickups, which provide plenty of harmonic content for pinch or artificial harmonics that are so widely-used in metal today.
