John Washington (November 12, 1692 - September 1, 1746) was a resident of the Colony of Virginia and the paternal uncle of the first President of the United States, George Washington. Washington was born in 1692 at Bridges Creek, Virginia, as the eldest son of Lawrence Washington and Mildred Gale. After his marriage in 1716, he settled in Gloucester County, where he worked as a farmer until his death in 1746.
