He and Darth Charow, his comrade, came into contact with the Sith Council in 38 ABY, when he accepted a request from Kracor to serve in the Ter Benix Empire's military. He was appointed to the rank of captain, and assigned to monitor the progress of Kracor's apprentices in training. In 45 ABY, with the Sith having pushed the GA out of the Corellian system, Mavrin was assigned to monitor the increasing presence of the Dark Corps. However, when Kracor began to plan the Sith invasion of Mon Calimari, Mavrin was reassigned to meet with the Quarren and gather information about the planet's defenses.
