"Who Called 'Perry'?" is an early short story by L. Frank Baum. It was first published in the 19 January 1896 edition of The Chicago Times-Herald, and was reprinted in The Baum Bugle in 1975. It is one of Baum's early attempts at a supernatural story, like "A Shadow Cast Before" and "My Ruby Wedding Ring." The newspaper printed the story because Baum had entered it into one of its fiction contests. A month after its appearance, another Baum story won a prize in another Times-Herald contest — see "Yesterday at the Exposition."
