| Synopsis
| - Hampel finishes a show he was doing to a group of children using Zatanna as his puppet. Afterwards, he tells Antonia Stefanacci that he plans to add Zatanna to a puppet exhibit he is going to donate to the Magic Museum. As he returns to his dressing room, he stares at the relics he stole from Zatanna, remarking that he has an entire life to figure out how they work.
Meanwhile, Zatanna casts a spell that restores her mind, but she is still trapped in puppet form.
Suddenly,a girl named Terri enters Hampel’s apartment and seduces him. Zatanna discovers that Terri is actually Mikey in disguise. Mikey knocks Hampel out with chloroform and Zatanna points him at the direction of the relics. Mikey places Zatanna alongside the relics, and Zatanna partially restores her human form.
When Zatanna asks how she found her, Mikey replies that she went to her house a few months ago and discovered puppet strings on her bed. Then, she saw a TV ad promoting Hampel and his puppets. Seeing that one of the puppets resembled Zatanna, she made some research on Internet and discovered that Zatanna was looking into him as well. Mikey also tells Zatanna that Brother Night has also escaped from jail and the San Francisco underworld is secretly controlling the prison.
Suddenly, Hampel wakes up and tries to attack them with the relics, but instead, he is turned back into a puppet and Zatanna is fully restored to human form. Zatanna reveals that Mikey is protected by a special spell that redirect magic attacks back to the caster and reverses all damage the caster has done. Then, Zatanna traps Hampel inside a large vase and seals it with a cement lid.
Later, Zatanna returns to Dr. Bodie, saying that she has finally understood why she was afraid all this time. She says that although her father did what he thought was right for her, he left her with a small feeling of being controlled against her will, like a puppet. But now that she understands her fear, she is not afraid anymore.
As she leaves Dr. Bodie’s office, Zatanna finds Brother Night in the waiting room. She asks why he is here, and Night replies that Dr. Bodie offers her services to all wizards, both good and evil. Zatanna says that she hopes that Night is here to find forgiveness for all he has done, but Night answers that the realm they are in is a place of peace and healing, and therefore, their conflicts in the earthly plane have no meaning here.
Zatanna returns to her dimension while Night enters Dr. Bodie’s office, saying that he has never felt better.
