Carter Glass was a confederate politician who served as the 14th President of the Confederate States (1922 - 1928). During his term in office the Mexican Revolution finally came to an end, and with it came the beginning of the Texas oil boom and cotton boom in the deep south. His period in office was one of economic expansion and a growth in living standards. The great Mississippi flood of 1927 caused widespread damage, but the administration's swift reaction won him much praise.
