Enemy bombers surviving Fighter Combat will be subjected to Air Defense from the player's fleet. Each incoming bomber slot is randomly assigned to a defending ship. For each assigned enemy slot, these defending ships will have two concurrent but independent chances (approximately 50% each) to shoot down enemy planes in Proportional Air Defense and Fixed Air Defense.

  • Enemy bombers surviving Fighter Combat will be subjected to Air Defense from the player's fleet. Each incoming bomber slot is randomly assigned to a defending ship. For each assigned enemy slot, these defending ships will have two concurrent but independent chances (approximately 50% each) to shoot down enemy planes in Proportional Air Defense and Fixed Air Defense. In addition, certain equipment load outs can enable Anti-air Cut-in (AACI); which shoots down an additional number of planes per slot assigned to the ship performing the AACI, as well as increases the strength of Fixed Air Defense for all friendly ships. Note 1: The forward sliding and machine gun animations seem to have no correlation with the calculations [citation needed]. Note 2: The ship selected to defend is not necessarily the target of the bomber. Any allied ship, including submarines, may be chosen to defend against bombers [citation needed].
