However, some side effects of his experimentation included his fingernails turning into sodium metal, hence his operative name. He isn't very helpful in battle, so he has become Captain of Support. Moreover, he developed hemophilia which means that, even if he wanted to fight, if he so much as got shot once, he'd pop like a water balloon filled with blood.

However, some side effects of his experimentation included his fingernails turning into sodium metal, hence his operative name. He isn't very helpful in battle, so he has become Captain of Support. Moreover, he developed hemophilia which means that, even if he wanted to fight, if he so much as got shot once, he'd pop like a water balloon filled with blood. Personality-wise, Leo is very... "very". He can be a little much at times. Leo's boisterous, loud, flamboyant, speaks his mind, laughs all the time, makes jokes... if you were to assign labels to each member of ELEMENT, Leo would be "class clown". When he teams up with someone on his wavelength, watch out; shit's about to go down. Leo enjoys drinking a lot, and he describes himself as a "funny drunk", which means get away, everybody. For your own sakes. However, he's surprisingly temperate, and knows his limits far better than one would assume at first glance. Though he doesn't really seem like he ever calms down, he can be introspective at times. Due to the dormant paternal instinct inside him (he's always wanted kids, but after joining ELEMENT, that dream is fading farther and farther into the fog), Leo sees pretty much everyone under the age of 30 in ELEMENT as his sons and daughters. He's the kind of father-figure that you can just pull up and have a beer with, have a talk, and end up feeling good about yourself. He's a genuinely nice person when he's not drunk or on one of his "practical-jokes-are-awesome" streaks. I cannot stress this enough: Steer clear of Leo when he's on one of those streaks. If you don't, you--and the physical pain inflicted upon you--will regret it. He seems to have a sort of masochistic streak in him, and, though he can't stand the sight of his own blood or misery, he seems to have a penchant for seeing that of others'. However, this side of him is mostly harmless, but, again, the opportune word there is "mostly".

* Adult Fear: He sees the rest of ELEMENT as his "children", but as Mission Control, he'd be the first to know if they go down.
* Ax Crazy: He can be... irrational when pushed to the limit.
* Badass Driver: Though he Drives Like Crazy, there's still a badass behind the wheel.

* Cast From HP: His experience at Legion left him with fingernails made of sodium metal. The only way he can fight like the other operatives is by making makeshift bombs using the metal in his fingernails and putting them in water bottles, which doesn't do much, or by dunking his hand in a basin of water and letting good ol' exothermia do the rest.
* Cool Old Guy: So far, the oldest operative in ELEMENT, and still manages to be pretty awesome.
* Cute and Psycho: In his own special way.
* Dirty Old Man: Played with.
* Flamboyant Gay: He has his moments.
* Ho Yay: Invoked with Dylan and Smith.
* Mission Control
* Nerds Are Virgins: Even though everyone has body modifications based on the periodic table of the elements, Leo averts this. Hard.
* Obfuscating Stupidity: He's Mission Control, but he acts like a total idiot.

* Sensei-chan: A rare male, non-teacher example.
* Shipper on Deck
* Superpower Lottery: Lost this. Hard. His so-called "superpower" is not breathing and having exploding fingernails.
* Team Mom: He attempts to invoke this, but due to the fact that he's Plucky Comic Relief and the overall lack of respect for his authority, it doesn't go over so well.
* Trauma-Induced Amnesia: He doesn't like speaking about his time at Legion... because he doesn't remember it.
