Larry Pennell was an American actor (he died August 28, 2013) known for the TV series Ripcord in the early Sixties. He began his onscreen career in 1955, and Firefly as Murphy was one of his last credits, as he was in his mid-seventies at the time. Like most TV actors of the Fifties and Sixties, he played in a range of fare, including Westerns such as The Virginian and Have Gun, Will Travel. He also had a run on the 1972 revival of Lassie, and played Clark Gable on Quantum Leap.
