- A Sidehopper is a species found in the Metroid series of video games. They first appeared in Metroid for the NES, and were presumably extinct seeing that their planet, Zebes, was destroyed in Super Metroid for the SNES. However, the showed up on the Bottle Ship in Metroid: Other M for the Wii. This article is a stub. You can help the Nintendo Wiki by expanding it.
- Sidehoppers are a species of insectoid bipeds indigenous to the subterranean jungles of Brinstar within the planet Zebes. They are usually around 6 feet tall, although they are known to grow to at least twice this size on more rarer occasions. Sidehoppers are named for their solitary pair of piston-like legs that allow them to make great leaps, although they only seem to be able to hop sideways, and not move unless it is a hop of some sort. Their mouth hangs below their head, likely indicating that they use their leaps to incapacitate prey before feeding upon them.
