A tetralogy of books by Brian Herbert and Kevin J Anderson, set during the time of the Corrino Empire and the Ascension of House Atreides. These books are "interquels" taking place in the time between Frank Herbert's original novels, they also flash-back to events in Paul's childhood. Paul of Dune was the completion of the three-book contract that began with Hunters of Dune and the following three books represent a new three-book contract. In July 2010 it was announced that the final two books of the series had been cancelled, and the next Dune book would be The Sisterhood of Dune.
