| - Until she signed on as a crewmember of the Crimson Banner, Loctho's life was fairly uneventful. She was born and raised on Ryloth, and made enough money as a mechanic to live in a modest apartment. Her once-Jedi friend Sorani Tillin roomed with her for several months before Captain Teyno Darna hired both of them as hands. Loctho brought with her L3-07, a personal project of hers; "Elthry" was an old protocol droid Loctho had repaired and refurbished as an assistant. As a dedicated mechanic on the Crimson Banner Loctho was far better off than she had been previously, since her incomprehensible-yet-somehow-working repairs led most customers to steer clear of her for fear of unreliability. Captain Darna's Force-sensitivity tipped him off that Loctho was not unreliable at all but rather a minor creative genius, and she finally landed a consistent job. A stop on Nar Shaddaa led Loctho's path to cross that of Maraz Vax, who compelled her to relay his desire to meet Sorani Tillin. Loctho was dismayed and more than a bit frightened when Sorani brought Maraz back to the Banner as a passenger, as she hadn't trusted him to begin with and believed him, understandably, to be a Sith. The two were at odds immediately. Loctho endeavored to avoid Maraz, but Maraz would have none of it and forced his way into her presence to verbally harass her on multiple occasions. Eventually, this led to a physical assault and attempted rape, which Sorani halted. Maraz was thenceforth ordered out of Loctho's presence under threat of physical enforcement. Loctho's habits as a mechanic were considered unusual, and other mechanics took one look at her repairs and either wondered aloud how in the world they even worked or scolded Loctho for dangerous negligence. Regardless of their apparent nonfuctionality, Loctho's work did indeed work, though occasionally not without quirks. L3-07 was an example of Loctho's repairs causing quirkiness; no matter how many times Loctho adjusted the droid's AI, it seemed to dread repairs, perhaps with the knowledge that Loctho was an atypical mechanic and a semblance of distrust in her ability. Elthry had also developed what seemed to be a nervous tic not seen in others of its model, which may have been due to Loctho's refusal to ever wipe its memory.
