Wine-gums are chewy, firm pastille-type sweets similar to gumdrops without the sugar coating. Hermione Granger idly suggested that Harry Potter might use Switching Spells to replace the fangs of the dragon of the first task of the Triwizard Tournament with wine-gums, but rejected the idea as impractical because as a rule it was nearly impossible to cast a spell through a dragon's hide.
