NATO's Cyber Defence Management Authority (CDMA) represents a bold effort to centralize cyber defence operational capabilities across the Alliance. The Brussels-based CDMA augments member cyber defences by providing a centralised bureau for coordinating member responses to the full spectrum of cyber attacks. It is responsible for initiating and coordinating immediate and effective cyber defence action where appropriate. The NATO Cyber Defense Management Board (CDMB) has supplanted the CDMA.
