| - On February 8, 2013, it was announced that Effigy would be released in a collected print edition called Smallville: Season 11 Special #1 on May 29, 2013.
- If you have completed Making History, when starting the quest Tower of Life, then Effigy will make an angry comment about a foolish adventurer, who stopped their plan on building a new tower where the Outpost is located, due to a renewed intrest in making it a museum. Your character will try to evade his questions, but with little success.
- "Effigy", known as "Frame" (フレーム, Furēmu) in Japanese, is a series of Level 4 monsters. All monsters in the series act as Double Tributers for Normal Monsters of their Attribute.

- Raised in Seattle, Washington, by his alcoholic father after his mother had died, Martyn Van Wyck was a bitter and resentful man. He was continuously getting into trouble with authority figures and he tried to make a career as a musician. He couldn't even get a menial job in the music industry. One night, a female acquaintance kicked him out of her car after an argument. Left 54 miles outside of Seattle, he was about to start hitchhiking back when a bright, overpowering light appeared in the sky. Van Wyck only had vague images of being in a room with figures standing over him. He was on a table and had the impression the figures were going to hurt him. - During the quest Tower of Life, a passing adventurer made the final constructions to the tower, much to the delight of Effigy and his fellow alchemists Currency and Transmute. They instantly rushed to the top of the tower, gleefully announcing their intentions to create life using the Tower. They succeeded, creating a Homunculus, trapping it in a cage and ignoring its cries of pain. The alchemists made derogatory comments about the Homunculus and demand it be quiet. When the adventurer tried to intervene, the alchemists dismiss them, swiftly following by the Homunculus breaking free. The alchemists fled, then Effigy tried to convince the adventurer to deal with the Homunculus. Rather than eliminate the Homunculus, the adventurer instead aided it, scaring away the alchemists and allowing th
