Takayuki Yanase (柳瀬 敬之 Yanase Takayuki?, born January 21, 1978) is a Japanese illustrator known primarily as a mecha designer on various video game and anime projects. He was first employed by Square Soft in 1997 as a part-time mecha and motion designer, working on titles such as Tobal 2, Ehrgeiz and The Bouncer. After leaving Square, he joined From Software in 1999 and worked as a mecha designer on Armored Core II, Armored Core II: Another Age and Murakumo: Renegade Mech Pursuit. Following his departure from From Software, he became a freelance, working on titles such as Eureka Seven, Gundam 00 and Xenoblades Chronicles X. He designed many of the mechs in Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots and Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, such as the Outer Haven submarine and Blade Wolf.
