Synopsis
  • Wolverine recalls his time fighting the Germans in World War I. Even back then, he preferred hand-to-hand combat to bearing arms. In the present, he is fighting Scimitar troops in Iraq on behalf of some friends of his. They’re a new breed; committed and dangerous. They’ve been popping up all over the place trying to establish themselves. After a brief skirmish, Logan is victorious, and he kisses his comrade in arms, the Atlantean beauty, Amir. They check the Scimitar base out and Amir finds information on their computer regarding a hit on Tony Stark. They make their way to the helicarrier on board an X-Plane and, when they arrive, Wolverine quickly makes his way to the bridge. There he is ambushed by a soldier using an image inducer to appear as Tony Stark. The guy is quick and strong, and wears an adamantium laced armor. Wolverine realizes that he’s been ambushed. He fights the guy, but the assailant is quick, and not even a blast from Amir can put him down. He recovers quickly from the blast and hits Amir in the neck with a throwing star. Wolverine responds in anger but, when he gets in too close, his opponent shoves a small bomb down his throat and explodes it. Later, S.H.I.E.L.D. recovers Logan’s body. His healing factor is repairing his flesh, but his consciousness doesn’t regenerate as it usually does. Tony Stark wonders why Logan is, for all intents and purposes, brain-dead.
