Synopsis
  • Mordru strikes at the Justice Society, attacking the courthouse with lightning to hit them with a wave of debris. In short order, he sets Hawkman on fire, cripples Mister Terrific, turns Sand into his mindless slave and steals Sentinel's powers. However, as Sentinel suffers from his loss, he is accosted by his son, Obsidian. At ther JSA brownstone, Wildcat and Jakeem Thunder have heard the news and use Johnny Thunderbolt to teleport over. After an initial argument over precise grammar, they arrive at the courthouse, where Jakeem powers are neutered by Mordru cutting his mvocal cords using Doctor Fate's magic. Meanwhile, Alex Montez and Air Wave are getting word of the attack to the JSA reserves. Dove tells Doctor Mid-Nite that she and Hank Hall, the hero known as Hawk who then became the villain known as Extant, received their powers from agents of Order and Chaos, respectively. They were also told that any child of theirsw would have the potential to become the most powerful sorceror in the world. Mordru attempted to kidnap their child, but Hector Hall's spirit was fated to inhabit it and take the mantle of Doctor Fate. She does not know how Mordru has gained control of Hector's body. Alex Montez has been contacted by Bruce Gordon, who is in possession of the last Black Diamond. At the courthouse, the heroes are on the ropes. Obsidian swallows the comatose body of Sentinel, sending it into the Shadowlands, but Stargirl and Captain Marvel follow it in, hoping to save him. The arrival of the Flash buys the heroes some time, and he gets Mister Terrific to safety. Returning for Jakeem Thunder, he is surprised that Doctor Mid-Nite is missing and that the infirmary is a mess. Searching the brownstone at super-speed, he discovers why - Doctor Mid-Nite and Dove have been knocked out by Eclipso, the third member of the Princes of Darkness.
