Chad Irving (b. 2 May 1993) is the son of Deborah and George Irving, the grandson of Irvin Irving, and a student at University of San Francisco. He was the valedictorian of his high school graduating class. On the evening of 2 October 2011 he received a call from his father asking him to come home right away for a family emergency. He did not know the nature of the emergency until he got home the next day and learned that his father had committed suicide.
