These diminutive sentients are native to one Camodai Prime, a fetid but prosperous little world on the Pirates' Lane between the Y'Toub and Hoth systems. How such a physically frail species managed to survive in such a dangerous sector of the galaxy is best understood through an examination of their culture. An attempt to wipe out the Snivvian populace several millenia ago by a Huttese extermination campaign failed miserably, which was remarkable given the Snivvians' almost complete lack of technology, total unfamiliarity with blasters, and general aversion to warfare. The Snivvian people turned out to be so difficult to exterminate not because of any physical toughness or stubborn tenacity, but simply through their personalities. The Snivvians, though not a pretty species, proved too amiable for even the cold-heartedest of pirates to kill rampantly. Whenever a fleet of death ships set out for Camodai Prime from Nar Shaddaa, it would inevitably return with Snivvian crew-members and explorers who had talked their way into passage off-world. For some time this infuriated the Hutts, until at last Froggog the Hutt visited Camodai personally with a small army of stone-faced Arcona mercenaries to finish the job. Since then, the Snivvians have been something of an installation in Huttese organizations, often serving the crime lords as genial advisors, consultants and stand-up comics.
