The TIE Cyclone had three wing pylons extending from the cockpit in a "Y" shape. One wing panel from a TIE Interceptor was located on each, and where one ended, another began. This ship was a short-ranged interceptor, not hyperspace-capable like the TIE/ni Enforcer. The power spared from removing a hyperdrive allowed it to be possibly the most maneuverable fighter ever built. It was armed with six laser cannons and no secondaries, and it was rather expensive.

To complicate matters, it required specialized docking racks, which added to the cost. Astragon gambled on the cost, and the gamble paid off. Multiple Harbinger-class Escort Carriers were modified with the special racks to carry the Cyclones, and they have become a bane to Imperial starfighter patrols ever since.
