  • Christine Breese was born June 6, 1965 and was raised in Pennsylvania, USA. She is an author, meditation teacher and lecturer. She is best known for her creation of the University of Metaphysical Sciences, an online university offering degrees in metaphysics and metaphysical subjects, including meditation, higher consciousness, and self-realization. She is also the founder of Universal Church of Metaphysics 501(c)3, Starlight Journal, and Starlight Mountain Farm and Retreat Center. Christine Breese was raised in Pennsylvania, USA with her younger sister. She lived in several places as her family moved every few years. Her father was involved in teaching jobs and child care administrative positions for most of her childhood life until he eventually changed careers and did various jobs, from flying small engine airplanes, hot air balloons, professional portrait photography, and finally making sails for sailboats which is what he does today. Her mother was an antiques dealer, running antiques shops and hosting antiques shows, as well as being an interior decorator, which is what she does today. Upon graduation of high school, Christine Breese (also known as Breeze) performed rock and roll music, playing lead guitar in her band and performing a large repertoire of over 200 original songs she wrote with quite a bit of success, almost finishing her first album by the time she was 23. However, she decided that in order to satisfy her curiosity she had to see the world, feeling that it would enrich her life, broaden her horizons, and in essence give her more to write about in her songs. Breese donned a backpack and hiked many of the wildernesses in the United States, including many parts of the Appalachian Trail and the Pacific Crest Trail, as well as traversing many parts of Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado and Utah. She also travelled to many third world countries and visited the ancient ruins of many of the countries she was most interested in. She went on Grateful Dead tours, vended jewelry and airbrushed artwork at Renaissance Fairs, and did just about every odd job a person can do while staying on the road. She attended Bluegrass Festivals, rock concerts, Folk Festivals, and Street Fairs, vending her handmade jewelry and clothing in between her travels and adventures. During this time she discovered and studied many spiritual paths, techniques and methods, and taught meditation classes whenever she stopped travelling. As time went on, she decided that she’d better get into college and get a degree, though, since she was now 28 years old. She decided to be practical and get a degree she could get a job with, just in case her other plans didn’t work out. Christine Breese attended Full Sail Center For The Recording Arts in Winter Park, Florida and earned two degrees, one in Audio Engineering and the other in Video and Film Production. She then went to work for Disney where she served as an audio technician on the Mickey Mouse Club show, at that time known as MMC Raps. She worked with Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Justin Timberlake and TJ, another of the N’Sync Boys. She also worked with many famous people on various productions, music videos, TV shows, and independent films, including CMT Music Awards. She aspired to make her own independent records and movies at some point, but at the time it was not financially feasible. Now, in the digital video and music age, it is feasible for people to make music and films without spending a fortune and you will find several productions by Christine Breese in the music, meditation and video markets, which she continues to output today. You can find out about her various projects at her personal webpage. She also keeps a log of her activities, updating her blog in order to let people know what she is up to at various times. Christine Breese (also known as Breeze in the video world) produced and directed Spirit Talk TV, A Metaphysical Talk Show featuring several guests in a beautiful flower garden discussing spiritual subjects. She has shot over 24 episodes and aspires to shoot 100 episodes in total in order to be able to syndicate the show all over the world, eventually. This show can be seen on cable TV stations and there are also some clips at Youtube. Breese has planned several independent film scripts centered on spiritual stories, as well as a documentary series featuring a tour of sacred spiritual sites around the world. In the process of editing are Awaken Now retreats and workshops she has facilitated. Also in the works is a reality show based on spiritually focused people on their journey. She has used her degrees in audio engineering and film and video production to explore spiritual subjects and topics, her heart’s passion. A series of guided meditation CDs have been produced in her studio that are part of the curriculum at her online university University of Metaphysical Sciences, and she also produces meditation music. She has also renewed her interest in rock and roll music on the side. She plays gritty lead guitar in the Calamity Jane Band, as well as other bands, and also has launched her solo project, Breeze. Along with her music and video production projects, Christine Breese has been quite busy with her spiritual endeavors. She brings much to the world in her ability to disperse spiritual teachings in an easy to understand and down to Earth way. She first created Universal Church of Metaphysics 501(c)3, a non-profit organization serving the purpose of charitable endeavors to provide as much possible assistance to others in whatever way it can. She then proceeded to found several other organizations in addition, listed below. Breese created Starlight Journal in order to provide a place for the spiritual community to gather and communicate with one another through blogs, forums and profiles where like-minded folks can tell others about their spiritual experiences, interests and endeavors. Starlight Journal also offers a plethora of free articles and reading on all kinds of spiritual subjects. University of Metaphysical Sciences is Breese’s online university offering Bachelors, Masters, Doctorate D.D. and Ph.D. degrees in metaphysics and spiritual subjects. The University has thousands of students worldwide and graduates who are working in the field of metaphysics and spiritual assistance to others. Starlight Mountain Farm and Retreat Center was also founded by Christine Breese in order to provide a campus for live classes for University of Metaphysical Sciences as well as a place to offer retreats, workshops and seminars. Breese travels extensively offering retreats and workshops in many places in the world, but headquarters is Starlight Mountain Farm and Retreat Center, a working farm in the process of establishing organic certification and a place where people can learn meditation and stillness. Starlight Mountain Farm and Retreat Center also offers a karma work exchange program where University of Metaphysical Sciences students can work off some of their tuition if they don’t have much money, or people can simply come and be part of the center whether they are a student of University of Metaphysical Sciences or not. Starlight Mountain Farm and Retreat Center is open to all. If you would like to view Christine Breese videos where she talks about various spiritual topics, you can find these at University of Metaphysical Sciences under Free Video Satsangs or on Youtube. You can also see excerpts from retreats and workshops as well. Christine Breese has often been compared to the likes of Eckhart Tolle, Terrence McKenna, Adyashanti and Byron Katie in forums and discussion boards. However, several have said that she brings humor to otherwise serious subjects and makes people comfortable with deep and mind blowing concepts about spirituality. She often has a roomful of people in stitches at her retreats, and then brings everyone around again to the sobering truth of being. She is wise and insightful as people ask her questions, and she disperses lectures as if channeling from a deep place in the eternal being of self, exuding a confidence and peacefulness that most people only wish they could achieve. Advaita vedanta, non-duality/nondualism and self realization are words often associated with Christine Breese’s teachings, but she feels that these words don’t truly encompass the real essence of her teachings. Many people have immediate associations with the idea of non-duality and advaita teachings, and even though some consider her an advaita and non-dualism teacher, she would say that the teachings are deeper than that, deeper than ideas and concepts. “Only by stopping your searching will you find what you are looking for. It has always been here right under your nose. No… actually… not under your nose. That’s silly. It is even closer than that! (audience laughs) When you realize that YOU are what you have been looking for, you have ended the great dilemma.” “So what and who are you then? That is the real question. What is this phenomena that is you? How is it possible that you are even here? Well, consciousness is an amazing thing. It is everywhere, all around you, inside you, inside everyone else, everywhere. It is in the atoms, the molecules, the tachyons. It is in the animals, the rocks, the oceans and the trees. Consciousness animates all forms and yet it is not the form itself.” “So who are you then if you are not your body, your name, or your form, or even a conglomerate of your experiences and history? Who are you if you are not a human? After all, your human form is but three blinks of an eye in the face of eternity and then it is just a memory, gone. So who are you then?” “You are eternal awareness living in the eternal ever-unfolding now moment, awake and alive inside its own imagination. All of this is God’s imagination, you, me, we are all just dream objects. You are independent of form, independent of identity, independent of all experiences. Those are all just fleeting appearings and disappearings in the awareness that you are. Anything that comes and goes, begins and ends, it’s not real. The only thing that is really real is awareness itself. Nothing else is real.” “When you discover this is what you are, eternal awareness that never dies, never has to fix anything, has never been harmed, and CAN’T be harmed, this is when the real adventure begins. This is when you are no longer a mortal being. You can live your life as an immortal now, realizing that your life goes on long after this form has come and gone, your experience of self never ends. When that happens, fear ends. When that happens, you no longer see people as just people. Rather you see them as more of your own self, for really, it is all just One Being having many lives, many forms and many experiences.” Ramana Maharshi is Christine Breese’s main influence, as well as his lineage through Papaji (Poonja) and Gangaji. She has also been influenced by J.Krishnamurti, Ghandi, Mother Teresa, as well as the great leaders of history who have faced violence with peace, hatred with love, and have brought great teachings to humankind against all odds. She likes Osho, Parahamsa Yogananda, and the Dalai Lama. She also likes Buddha (Siddhartha), Jesus and Krishna. The list of influences is simply too long to expound on. However, Christine Breese’s greatest influence of all was her own exploration of self. She found that “no teacher can really teach a student anything, the student must discover the sat-guru within, the teacher that is inside us all.” Breese spent approximately six years in the wildernesses in meditation, self introspection, and stillness. She found that no one could really help her discover the true self. “Only by direct experience can the truth be realized. Only by sitting in silence and waiting for the answers to come does the mystery finally unfold. Only by becoming aware of consciousness itself can the teacher within come forth. Then and only then can enlightenment be realized.” —Breese Quote. Christine Breese’s greatest influences, in effect, have come from deep within. Reclaiming The Shadow Self is Christine Breese’s first book written in 1997.
