The Elder Civilizations was the name given to a group of races that descended from the multispecies culture of Center One which existed twenty thousand Galactic Cycles ago. Despite the destruction of that region of space by a supernova, the Travellers and Exiles managed to survive by fleeing through a Wormhole which deposited the groups at various points across the galaxy.

Over the eons since that age, these civilizations had explored as well as expanded across space and fought wars of bitter conquest. Some of these ancient races had since fallen whilst those that survived became myth. Despite seemingly vanishing, some of those species still existed whilst the legacies of those that do not still remain in the galaxy. The ranks of the Elder Civilizations include the Orion and Antarans.
