Exploring a ruined New York, Elsie puts forth the idea that they are in the future. Encountering a young boy, they are pursued by another of the creatures - which the boy calls a Dragma - before helping them escape into the sewers.

When they boat becomes steady, they find Zilla Junior and the Jellyfish have disappeared. Returning to Statten Island, they find all the machinery wrecked while Zilla's lair is empty with plant growth inside. Exploring, they are attacked by an unknown creature but manage to escape it. Exploring a ruined New York, Elsie puts forth the idea that they are in the future. Encountering a young boy, they are pursued by another of the creatures - which the boy calls a Dragma - before helping them escape into the sewers. Inside, they meet a much older and more rugged Craven - who explains that the team disappeared after chasing the Jellyfish, with only Godzilla returning. Bringing the team up to speed, Craven tells them that it's the year 2022 and that Earth has been overrun by thousands of genetically engineered mutations called Dragmas, with the invasion beginning 18 years ago. There are now only a few hundred people in New York and a few thousand across the United States - some of whom hide while others fight, but all are hunted. Showing the team a memorial statue of Zilla Junior when Nick asks, Craven assures Nick that he died a hero and allowed millions to escaped during an event called the 'Second Great Seige', but stated even Zilla Junior was no match for the Dragmas. Victor 'Animal' Palotti has gone M.I.A but the boy who helped save the team is his son, K.D. Nick also learns that Audrey married another man after his disappearance and that from what Craven last heard, they were headed for New Zealand as there were fewer Dragmas there, but never heard if they survived the crossing over the open ocean. Later helping Craven against a Dragma attack, the team meet an older Major Hicks, who has lost his right arm, left leg and right ear in his battles against the Dragmas - having them replaced with mechanical versions. Explaining that by the time the miltary found out about Johnathan Insley, it was too late. Hicks even released all the mutants on Monster Island but that also failed. However, Elsie realises the 'Time Storm' might still be raging outside - meaning HEAT could potentially return back to their own time and stop the Dragmas from been created. As the Dragmas break into the building, Hicks tells Nick "Your battle isn't here, it's in the past! Find Insley, stop him! Save our future!" Escaping with Craven, the team return to the Heat Seeker, where Craven gives them one of the weapons he was using against the Dragmas in the hope it will help them in the past. As the team say goodbye and head for the storm, one of the Dragmas attacks but is brought down by a lightning bolt. Reaching their own time, the Jellyfish attacks the Heat Seeker but is grabbed and killed by Zilla Junior. Returning to base, the group learn about Johnathan Insley's "Democratic Resurgence Against a Globally Mechanised Armageddon" program, although Elsie realises that when abbreviated it spells the word D.R.A.G.M.A. Heading for American Technologies, the team (except Craven, who doesn't know what is going on) confront Dr. Insley about his program - only for him to unleash the infant versions of the Dragmas. However, the team take advantage of their undeveloped hides and attack them - with Zilla Junior also assisting them. When Johnathan orders them to attack, he quickly realises he can't control them but is narrowly saved by HEAT - while Craven saves Elsie from a Dragma when she gets trapped. With the babies wiped out and the data disc of the procedure destroyed, the alternate future never happens.
