  • Hernan Alvarez, commonly nicknamed Shades, is a criminal working for Diamondback who was sent to watch over and advise the criminal operations of Cottonmouth in Harlem. This put him back into conflict with a former enemy, Luke Cage while also watching the rise of Mariah Dillard in the wake of Cottonmouth's murder. When Diamondback arrived in Harlem to kill Cage, Shades stayed by his side although his constant questioning of his boss eventually made him a target, forcing him to side with Dillard and betray Diamondback to save his own life.
  • The Shades debuted in the Ewoks #9 review after Pollo the Robot managed to locate Linkara and bring him to our universe but had to bring the Shades with him. They then battled Linkara, Iron Liz, Harvey Finevoice and Pollo and were quickly destroyed. Linkara also revealed during the battle that they are robots. A head is seen at the end of the Cable #2 review when Linkara and Pollo are examining it and Linkara asks Pollo to find out everything he can about them. They are possibly inspired by the Putties from Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. Their clothing consists of a black hood, a black mask, black and/or beige robes and black gloves. At the end of Silent Hill: Dead/Alive #5, Linkara shows Iron Liz that he discovered a Shade dagger in his room after besting the Otherworld.
  • Shades is a Dare Gremlin and likes challenging Button. He rides on Heat. He loves telling Spool that Button likes when people get insulted, and so Spool insults Pink, and Pink chases button until they run into Thimble who is having an angry rage. Then Shades walks off laughing, getting the attention of Loop. If you have read the page of everyone in the S.O.E., this should be getting familiar. Weirdly, he is also a Friend Gremlin.
  • It cuts the pink-to-white hue created whilst within a five meter proximity of a signal flare, though it is not as effective against flares as Gas Mask is against Tabun Gas and does not allow the player to retain their minimap while within the flare's range. If the player has Shades equipped, the player model will reflect that, with sunglasses literally on the player model to protect it from the intensity of signal flares. Each faction has different types of shades with this perk (excluding the Marine Raiders and the Red Army, which use the same type of sunglasses).
  • There have been rumors that Shades can be sealed within people in the same manner as tailed beasts, though this have never been officially confirmed. The rumors state that such beings have the craving for physical energy just like Shades.
  • Hernan "Shades" Alvarez is a Marvel Comics character and supervillain who appears in Luke Cage.
  • Shades was the owner of a crack house that was in front of Barbara Hisk's house. He received his merchandise from Darontay.
  • The Shades were a group of hooded figures that lived in the Eldwitch Woods under the command of the "Great Witch" Darklaw. By using robes that rendered them invisible to the inhabitants of Labyrinthia, they used various mechanical devices to create the illusion that magic was real in the town.
  • Lord Pezzack "Shades" Highroost, Mayor of Dejune, Chosen soul of Bofred. Probably the High Priest of Bofredism too.
  • Spell level: sorcerer/wizard 6 Innate level: 6 (special) School: illusion Components: verbal, somatic Range: special Area of effect: special Duration: special Save: special Spell resistance: yes Description: The caster conjures a shadow variant of one of the following spells: cone of cold, fireball, stoneskin, wall of fire, or summon shadow.
  • Shades is a deceased merchant that appears in the Fallout 4 add-on Automatron.
  • Important safety consideration: Some shades have attached cords for raising or lowering them. Small children playing with the cord could hurt or strangle themselves. Cords can be designed to be safer by detaching or breaking apart rather than tightening. If you have shades with cords, especially if you have small children around, please check into safety measures.
  • Shades are undead spirits. The remnants of a living being. Shades walk the Surface Region of the Realm of the Dead on the Isle of the Dead. Caliphim and Allaria had become shades after they were brutally murdered by Abdul Alhazred.
  • You conjure a shadow variant of one of the following spells: Delayed Blast Fireball (when cast on a hostile creature), Summon creature VIII (when cast on the ground), or the combination of Premonition, Protection from Spells, and Shield (when cast on yourself).
  • A pair of cool sunglasses with black lenses and black rims. This a clothing item which equips to your face with a rarity of 6.
  • The Shades are an exile gang that have gained the reputation of monsters and horror in the streets of Pillsen. Not much is known about their leader, Price, other than unleashing a reign of terror in outer Pillsen.
  • Of the new troops that came online in the Generation War (as the conflict with the Imperial Cybertronians came to be called), the diminutive Shades is the most unique -- as she was once human. The Decepticon Soundwave tracked the signature of telepathy-capable mind to California, and was astonished to discover a human mind with this ability. When the human in question was mortally injured in the course of an Imperial attack on San Francisco, Soundwve -- out of curiosity more than anything else -- transferred her consciousness into one of the small fast ground-combat forms that were being built by both Autobot and Decepticon alike. As she has no prior history with either faction, she is perhaps the one most likely to continue supporting the shaky alliance between the two -- if she can stay
  • Have you ever seen something darting in the corner of your eye? Suddenly had this inexplicably immense fear that was just crushing you? Wanted to get out of there as quickly as possible, even though it is a comfortable home, your home? Have a nagging curiosity that has been driving you insane lately? Feel like you're being watched? Developed an irrational and superstitious mentality and/or a morbid obsession with the unknown and paranormal? "The shades tremble beneath the waters and the inhabitants thereof." I found another verse a few days later: I know what I saw.
  • Many of the ancient traditions of the Nagarythe are preserved in their culture. Newborns spend their first night outside their parents dwellings; only after the child has survived the nocturnal beasts and fierce climate will its parents accept it. They are also known to drink fermented blood. It is customs such as these which have earned the shades the label "feral" in even the eyes of their own Dark Elven kin. Some Shades were stationed in the Sunken Isles during the Age of Strife. Malekith promised to reward them for each Shadow Warrior head delivered to him in Naggarond.
  • The Shades are mysterious cloaked characters who appear in Professor Layton vs. Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney. They live in the Eldwitch Woods outside of Labyrinthia in a small village. They follow the rulings of the "Great Witch", who assigns them individual tasks. They all seem to be very dedicated to their task, being the only thing they talk about (if they talk at all). Once a Shade completes their task, they are allowed back into the city as a new person. In that case, the entire town is brainwashed to prevent anyone from recognizing the person.
  • The Shades (Druhir: Autarii, spectres), or Dark Elf Scouts as they were known in earlier editions, are clans of Dark Elves who inhabit the Blackspine Mountains. The Shades origins lie in the city of Clar Karond. Sent to explore the lands under the mountains by the Underworld Sea, they were betrayed by their city rivals and banished. In their exile they settled in the barely hospitable, monster infested heights of the Blackspine Mountains. In spite of everything, the Shade clans found a way to prosper and life there has bred them into cruel, hawk-eyed killers; their new home being an excellent battleground for their inter-tribal wars of sniping and ambush. The denizens of Clar Karond live in the fear that they might one day return from their mountains to exact vengeance on those who once wr
  • Shades are of similar size and build to elves. However, that is where the similarities end. While elves have a tan or olive-colored skin, shades are pale, from a unhealthly pallor to a monstrous gray. Their hair is one of two colors- Jet black or an odd pastel red. They have pointed, slightly curved ears, and their eyes have black irises and red whites. They are usually rather lithe; finding a highly muscular shade is rare. Most notably, however, are their retractable, elongate canines, or fangs. It has been proposed that the evolutionary ancestors of elves once had these and used them for hunting, however, only the Shades retain them. Contrary to popular belief, they cannot use them to suck blood- in fact, Shades retract them to eat. They unfurl their fangs to show contempt or to seem mor
