When active, Kinetic Armor enveloped the wearer in a compact energy field, similar in function to the personal energy shield, another innovative Echani creation. Because the emitters on the armor created a cyclonic oscillating energy field, it was also able to deflect small particles of matter, although nowhere near to the effectiveness of a particle shield. Kinetic Armor was almost exclusively utilized by the Echani due to their knowledge of crafting them, and was created in order to compensate for the Echani's preference for melee weaponry over blasters and other ranged weaponry in combat.
