On January 7th a very strong supercell developed near Katie it was tornado warned at 3:30 P.M. and at 3:35 P.M. a tornado was reported a tornado emergency was issued the tornado reached EF4 strength near Katie the tornado was wider than the town itself then as the tornado reached town it reached EF5 strength and then tore through town sweeping away every single building in the town. The damage was unbelievable and was shocking it also had 400 MPH wind speed recorded. On the first day the NWS considered a EF6 rating but the SPC said for no reason should their be a EF6 rating. The tornado was rated EF5 as a result.
