| - Jacqui Moir was elected to Parliament in August 3267. Moir held the record for being the youngest person ever elected. She took office at the age of 19. In 3282, she contested the deputy leadership of the party. Moir placed second in a field of five candidates. In 3287, she was elected to the position. Shortly after assuming the deputy leadership, Moir was named Minister of Defence. This portfolio greatly increased her national exposure. A highly popular member of the cabinet, Moir made a series of controversial decisions that ultimately proved successful. Following the disastrous 3291 elections, Moir was easily elected leader of the Liberals. Moir was the first woman to lead the party. She successfully formed a new government that proved popular with Rutanians. Shortly after becoming leader, Moir proposed a series of bills in Parliament and not a single one passed. As a result, Tim Ecola challenged Moir for the leadership. She was easily reelected. In 3295, the Liberals made major gains in Parliament. Four months after the elections, Moir was sworn in as Prime Minister. Just four years later, Moir oversaw the worst defeat for the party in it's history. While most expected her to resign as Leader and Prime Minister on Election Night, Moir opted to stay in power for as long as she could. Months after the elections, minor parties began to collapse and an early elections bill was placed before Parliament. Moir asked her caucus to let her stand for her party one more time. The significantly smaller caucus allowed Moir to remain Leader and Prime Minister if she rewrote the leadership election rules, which she did. While a number of smaller parties supported Moir's calls for elections, President James Romney of the Moderate Democrats did not. Romney was able to hold off elections until he struck a deal with Moir. He agreed to hold elections if she would endorse him in the presidential runoff. She agreed but only if she could remain Prime Minister. A deal was struck and in August 3300, Rutanians went to the polls. The Liberals gained only two seats, the fewest of any party. Following the 3304 elections, Moir saw the Liberals gain 44 seats in Parliament. While most expected Moir to remain Prime Minister for an additional term, she unexpectedly announced her intention to resign just four months after the elections. Despite her announcement that she would step down as leader and Prime Minister, Moir announced her bid for the presidency. In its first leadership election, Moir was nominated by her party for the presidency. After narrowly capturing the nomination, Moir performed poorly in the presidential vote. She won only 10% and came in last place. She remained Prime Minister until she resigned in 3308.
