Anya Len was born to unknown parents on the leafy and wooded planet of Santhin. When Jedi Masters Eeron Mocovin, Check Soan, and Quatra discovered the infant Rutian Twi'lek, they also found her parent's corpses nearby. They presumed they were killed by a deadly Cinthan, vicious creatures native to the area. On their way through the thick forest, a nest of Cinthan cubs spotted them and called for their elder. The creature attacked and nearly killed Eeron and Anya. While Quatra grabbed Anya and kept running, Check ran to assist Eeron. Though neither of them saw it, the elder Cinthan ran its forehead horn through Check's back, killing him in seconds. Eeron ran back to the ship and met with Quatra and Anya. Back on Dantooine, the Jedi Masters did not originally approve of the young Twi'lek.
